Numan Numan is a Managing Director at 212 with a solid background in technology and management. Prior to founding 212, Numan worked at Goldman Sachs in Tokyo and New York for more than 12 years. As a technology evangelist in the firm’s leadership team, he managed global engineering teams and focused on new technologies to bring competitive advantage to the firm. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Numan worked at Credit Suisse in Tokyo. After more than two decades in technology at investment banks, working closely with private equity and venture capital sectors, he followed his entrepreneurial instinct and ventured into other businesses.

Numan holds B.Sc. in Computer Sciences from Ege University. He currently lives in Istanbul, Turkey where he is among pioneers cultivating the ecosystem.

Ali Karabey

Ali Karabey is a Managing Director at 212 focusing on investments in internet, communication and technology companies. Ali currently serves on the boards of Solvoyo, Software as a Service provider of advanced supply chain optimization software, Insider, global technology platform enabling online businesses take customer data driven actions, and Parcadeposu.com, Turkey's largest online B2B marketplace for auto parts.

After graduating from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Ali resumed his career in Arthur Andersen's New York office in the Corporate Finance department, executing mid-market transactions in technology, media and telecommunications industries. In 2002 he joined Morgan Stanley Capital International to manage North American and European finance teams consecutively. Meanwhile he was involved in the valuation, due diligence, and the post-acquisition integration of acquisition targets.

After Morgan Stanley Ali transferred to Deutsche Bank to focus on the Bank's principal investments.

Prior to 212, Ali moved back to Istanbul in 2008 and started consulting clients in the government and private sector on Project Finance & Private Equity Advisory projects.

Ali currently serves on the Endeavor Advisory Board.

Ezabel Nihmet

CFO

Ezabel has an extensive background in asset management. After graduating from Boston University she began her career at PriceWaterHouse Coopers in New York where she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant. From there she moved into the fund management industry working with TPG Axon for five years in New York and then opening their London office. In London she moved into the venture capital space with Accel Partners. Throughout her career she has done both pro-bono consulting for charities and consulting for start-ups. She advises on a wide range of financial issues from budgeting, accounting, financial modelling to profitability analysis and valuations.

Gozde Demir

Vice President

Gozde Demir is a Vice President at 212 with responsibilities on asset development and investments in technology companies.

Gozde started her career in Goldman Sachs New York office in Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division. In last 8 years she spent in Turkey, she has managed over 8 companies, 5 new businesses and numerous projects with more than 5,000 employees, and various consultants. Her experience in setting strategy for numerous companies, managing multiple transformation programs, with a strong emphasis on human resources and lean operation systems comes as an asset.

Gozde has managed change in public sector institutions and NGOs. She served as VP at TOBB Turkish Women Entrepreneurship Board, Board Member of Turkish Economic Counsel (DEIK ). She is a APICS certified supply chain management professional. She received her MBA at Bogazici University, International Relations and Supply Chain Management degrees in Syracuse University.

Prior to 212, Gozde was consulting clients in the private sector on M&A buy-side advisory.

Mr. Ünlü graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Georgia Institute of Technology in 1989, and received an MBA degree from Rice University, Houston in 1991. He worked as an associate of ‘İktisat Bankası’ in 1991 and subsequently as the Assistant General Manager of Yatırım Bank between 1992 and 1995. He co-founded Dundas Ünlü in 1996. He formed a strategic partnership with Standard Bank Group Ltd in 2007, called “Standard Ünlü” and served as the Deputy and CEO. He was also a member of the International Executive Committee of Standard Bank. In 2012 he formed “Ünlü & Co” by acquiring 75% stake of Standard Ünlü and is currently serving as the Chairman and CEO.

Mr. Kurttepeli is currently the president of Galata Business Angels (GBA), the board member of Endeavor, the board member of Turkish Venture Capital Industry Council and TOBB Entrepreneurs Council, is an Ashoka Fellow and is the founding board member of Columbia University Global Center.
